Colin cuts the ribbonDidcot TRAIN Youth Project's new office is now officially open. Colin Daukes, Chairman of South Oxfordshire District Council, cut the ribbon to officially open the office at an event attended by Ann Ducker, leader of South Oxfordshire District Council, Tony Harbour, the Mayor of Didcot, and Ed Vaizey, Didcot's MP.

RAISING MONEY FOR A NEW YOUTH WORKER

BlenheimCathy and Lee Bailey, pictured with new the Gap Year Youth Worker Rachel (middle), after their triathlon at Blenheim Palace in June. Cathy and Lee swam, ran and cycled around Blenheim and raised over £350 for TRAIN. The money raised will go towards a new youth worker, that will enable TRAIN to reach out to more young people who gather on the streets of Didcot.

Easter is residential time for TRAIN, when the young people pack their bags and head off with Paul and the team for three days of rock climbing, canoeing and campfiremaking. This year we gave twelve young people a whole new experience: a log cabin near Monmouth, Wales, with no heating, no daytime electricity and, worst of all, no mobile phone reception! The lack of home comforts was a disaster as far as the young people were concerned, but proved a great way to challenge them.

RAISING MONEY FOR A NEW YOUTH WORKER

TRAIN Moves
TRAIN has just signed a contract with South Oxfordshire District Council to relocate to 118 Broadway, (next to Thomas Merrifield and was the old tourist information centre) Keith, chairman of TRAIN was especially excited about this saying “we have waited a long time for this and is another step to achieving our new 5 year plan .” TRAIN moves on Saturday 7th June.
