We are looking for an individual with experience of managing services to join our board as our Operational Lead Trustee. This will include delivering line management to two posts, and working with fellow Trustees to shape the strategic and developmental direction of the charity’s operations. We welcome interest from those looking to share established knowledge as well as those looking to develop their own skills and experience through of charitable governance. Most importantly, we are seeking an individual who cares about the futures of young people.

Commitments include attendance at a monthly trustee meeting, a monthly skype call and monthly supervision of two posts. This is an anticipated time commitment of 8 hours per month.

We are looking for volunteers to help support our Participation Pathway

TRAIN volunteers are vital to everything that we do. They are paramount to ensuring we offer young people an extensive and diverse range of provisions. As volunteers are crucial to our service and to young people we are looking for someone who will be able to support the Participation Pathway group on a Tuesday evening.

Key aspects of the role:

Participation Pathway is focused on offering young people opportunities to gain greater responsibility with TRAIN, by engaging them with us at a variety of strategic levels - as Young Ambassadors, Young Leaders or Young Volunteers. Our participation focused work flows through our entire provision schedule, as we aim to integrate those involved in multiple aspects of our work. Every Tuesday however we are beginning to run regular group meetings for all those involved on the Pathway, as a key time for them to discuss their views on how they would like their roles to be shaped, ideas for specific social action projects and events they would like to initiate and general feedback on our youth work projects. It will also provide a useful opportunity to carry out any planning for projects they are working towards as part of the Pathway.

We are looking for volunteers to help support our detached programme.

“Detached Youth Work is a model of youth work practice, targeted at vulnerable young people, which takes place on young people’s own territory such as streets, cafes, parks and town centres at times that are appropriate to them and on their terms. It begins from where young people are in terms of their values, attitudes, issues and ambitions and is concerned with their personal and social development. It is characterised by purposeful interaction between youth workers and young people and utilises a range of youth and community work methods”

We are looking for volunteers to help support our detached programme.

“Topaz is a Oxfordshire county project and is a collection of people who run groups with and for young people who would like a safe space to explore their feelings and gain a better understanding of themselves. Particularly those young people (13-18) who are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual or Transgender. This group is also for people who are unsure about their sexuality and may be questioning it. Friends of young people are also welcome at their first couple of meetings for support. We have teamed up with Topaz to run a group in Didcot”
