Didcot TRAIN Youth Project

Core Funders

Didcot TRAIN Youth Project was formed by Churches Together in Didcot and District and receives funding from a number of the churches.

South Oxfordshire District Council provides both core detached and project funding. SODC also provides our office in the centre of Didcot.

Didcot Town Council provide detached and project funding. Early support from the Town Council was also key in helping secure other funding when we started TRAIN.

Thanks to funding form Police and Crime Commissioner for Thames Valley’s Early Intervention Youth Fund we have been able to appoint full time youth worker to deliver detached and outreach activity, connecting young people in Didcot with Didcot TRAINs mentoring and youth participation programmes. Activity will include:

  • Engaging young people through outreach activity in known ASB hot spots
  • Signposting into and extending provision of a 1:1 mentoring programme
  • Involving young people in positive social action and community activity, building resilience and unlocking access to wider support resources and opportunities through positive community participation.

Garfield Weston provides core funding to ensure we are able to offer a wide range of provision to young people.
