We hope you were all able to get out to enjoy the sun for the scorcher of the days we had last week! A flavour of what last week at TRAIN looked like:
Please click the pdf link below to have a read of our June Newsletter, for an overview of the mix of activities and support we have been offering to young people through social media this past month!
This month’s newsletter was kindly written by volunteer youth support worker Aisha so a very BIG thank you Aisha!
We hope you enjoy having a read in the sun - ice cream in hand!
Our Children in Need funded Dinner and Debate (D&D) sessions pre-lockdown were face to face run sessions in which young people would come to talk to us about relevant topics to them, whilst eating food kindly provided by Greggs. Lockdown has brought many challenges for everyone in many different ways and we have seen some of these through our work. Changing all our provision to virtual has been challenging, especially for more structured sessions like D&D.
We hope you have all been really enjoying the opportunity to meet with loved ones again and the other benefits the gradual easing of restrictions are opening up (within guidelines of course!)
Things may be returning to normal but it’s important that, as a community, we remind ourselves not overlook the effects of the crisis on young people’s mental health and the likelihood of these persisting for some time.
We hope you are all still staying safe and keeping well as restrictions slowly lift. Last week here at TRAIN saw us run a variety of digital groups, hangouts, mentoring and more. In light of the conversations and actions that have been taking place globally these past days, equality and diversity became important themes in our various provisions.
