TRAIN stands for To Reach out And INteract with young people. This is exactly what our youth workers and volunteers do. We go out (2-3 times a week for 2 hours or more) and talk to young people that gather on the streets, in the parks or wherever. We offer alternatives to hanging around, give information or just offer a listening ear.
To be able to offer this and other projects to the young people of Didcot takes a lot of time and resources so your financial support is key to the success of this ongoing work.
Are you having a birthday or anniversary party, special family and friend’s celebration?
Perhaps you are going to take part in a challenge and are looking to support a good cause with your efforts?
If you are, have you thought about nominating TRAIN as your chosen charity?
We depend on the support, goodwill and marvellous generosity of the people of Didcot to help raise funds to work with the young people in our community and are so appreciative of your kindness.
A few examples of recent donations we have been incredibly grateful to receive...
- £80 from the Ridgeway Division of Trefoil Guild (part of Girl Guiding UK), who rather than organising a typical Secret Santa this Christmas, had the very kind idea of each contributing a donation
- Tesco held a wonderful charity football match at East Hagbourne Pavilion
- Didcot Train Station recently chose to make us their sponsored charity, donating funds from their fundraising days and book case!
