We transform young people’s lives through mentoring – delivering Group and 1-2-1 mentoring programmes. Our youth workers are specifically trained to mentor young people aged 9 to 18, having completed a CPD course in Youth Mentoring Training with the Mentoring Lab.

All young people we mentor are referred to us by schools, health services, other agencies, or parents/guardians and young people themselves. We are currently accepting referrals for our 1-2-1 mentoring programme. If you would like to make a referral, please complete a referral form and send it to georgina@didcottrain.org.uk.

To be considered for our mentoring programme, the young person must:

  • Live in Didcot, Harwell or Wallingford OR go to school in one of these areas.
  • Be aged 9 to 18.

Please note that the waiting list for our 1-2-1 mentoring programme changes throughout the year. Generally, the waiting time is around six weeks. We make sure to tell you the current waiting time when you are referred.

Group Mentoring Programme

We deliver group mentoring to young people aged 9 to 18 in schools across Didcot and Wallingford. Each group has a maximum of eight young people. The group meets once a week for 1 hour over six consecutive weeks.

We offer three group mentoring packages, which focus on different topics in each session:

  • Mental Health & Wellbeing
  • Building Confidence & Self-Esteem
  • Positive Relationships

1-2-1 Mentoring Programme

We also deliver bespoke 1-2-1 mentoring to young people aged 11 to 18 who live in Didcot or Harwell or attend school in one of these areas. We meet with the young person once a week for 1 hour over a minimum of six weeks. These sessions are tailored to the specific needs of the young person.
